  • Provide financial support to bright and needy students of minority communities in public educational institutions of Punjab
  • Students enrolled from Matric to PhD level and to encourage minority students to perform better in the educational arena
  • Align with the sectoral objective highlighted in MTDF 2015-18 such as assisting amelioration of educational standards of youth belonging to minority communities.

Domicile

The candidates must have domicile of Punjab.

Family Income

Maximum family income must be less than Rs. 59,600/- per month

Qualification

    • The student / applicant must have obtained at least 40% marks in the last passed examination of part / semester / class through a public institution.
    • The selection of students will be on merit i.e. the applications of students with highest marks will be considered first, subject to the fulfillment of the following prescribed conditions:
      • Applicant should belong to Minority community;
      • Applicant must be resident of Province of the Punjab;
      • Applicant must be enrolled in government/semi-government institutions held in territorial limits of Province of the Punjab;
      • Applicant must have regular education and passed last examination (year, class, part or semester etc.) with minimum 40% marks from a recognized Board/University.
      • Family income of the applicant should not exceed income threshold provided by PERI.
      • Income portion on form must be attested from Class-I or Grade-17 Government Officer with proper sign and stamp.
      • Educational Portion must be verified from Headmaster/Principal/Head of Department/Vice Chancellor of the concerned educational institution with proper sign and stamp.
      • Religious portion must be verified from religious elder with proper sign and stamp.
      • Applications complete in all respects received in the department on prescribed application before the closing date will be considered. All other applications, after closing date, will be considered as rejected.
    • Minorities Students of Federal Educational Institutions located in Punjab will be entitled to apply for the educational scholarship.
    • Minorities Students of Federal Educational Institutions located outside Punjab will not be entitled to apply for the educational scholarship.
    • Students studying under Distance Learning Educational Programme or in Open or Virtual universities or Private institution will not be entitled to apply for the educational scholarship.

The government of the Punjab has been sponsoring educational scholarships for the students of minority communities.
An amount of Rs.60.000 million was allocated for Educational Scholarships for Minorities Students for the year 2024-25.
Project objectives are to provide financial support to bright and needy students of minority communities in public educational institutions of Punjab enrolled from Matric to PhD level and to encourage minority students to perform better in the educational arena. These objectives align with the sectoral objective highlighted in MTDF 2015-18 such as assisting amelioration of educational standards of youth belonging to minority communities.
70% of the total funds may be allocated for the students of central Punjab i.e. (Gujranwala, Lahore, Faisalabad, and Sahiwal divisions), which will be equally divided amongst the aforementioned 5 categories of students. 18% of the fund may be allocated for the students within a region of southern Punjab(Multan, Bahawalpur and Dera Ghazi Khan Division), which will be equally divided amongst the aforementioned 5 categories of students. 10% of the total fund may be allocated to the students of northern Punjab (Rawalpindi and Sargodha Divisions) which will be equally divided amongst the aforementioned 5 categories of students. In case the amount earmarked for a particular category within regions is not fully utilized then the balance amount will be equally divided amongst other categories of the same region. In case of amount allocated for a region is not fully utilized due to the absence of sufficient eligibility then the balance amount will be distributed to other regions in the assigned ratios and the indicated distribution mechanism.
Regular students of minority communities domiciled in Punjab and enrolled in the following disciplines in recognized public educational institutions will be eligible:- Professional education (MBBS, DVM, BDS, B.sc (Eng), B.Sc(Nursing), Pharm-D, DPT, Ph.D.etc) PKR 100,000 Postgraduate Level (M.A, M.Sc, M.Com, MCS/MBA, M.Phil, LLM.etc) PKR 70,000 B.A/.B.Sc./B.B.A/B.Com.(2&3 years degree & Honours i.e 4 years degrees ) LL.B. etc PKR 60,000 F.A/F.Sc./I.Com/"A" LEVEL/DAE or Equilvalent. PKR 40,000 Matric/'O' LEVEL or Equivalent PKR 30,000 The students /applicants must have at least 40% marks in the last passed examination of part/semester/class through a recognized board/ university. Maximum family income must be less than Rs. 59,600/- per month. The selection of students will be on merit i.e. the applications of students with heights marks will be considered first subject to the fulfillment of all prescribed conditions. Minority students of Federal Education Institutions working in Punjab will be entitled to apply for the scholarship. Minority students of Federal Educational Institutions located outside Punjab will not be entitled to apply for the educational scholarship. Students studying under Distance learning Education Programmes or in Open or Virtual Universities will not be entitled to apply for the educational scholarship.
